"Give us this day our daily bread". ~Matthew 6:11. One of the lines of demarcation between poor and wealthy people in the world has to do with food. If you have food for the day at the beginning of the day, you could be called wealthy. If you have no food at the beginning of the day and are forced to find food for the day, you could be called poor. In other words, the concept of "reserves" or "ready supply" moves one from the category of poverty to non-poverty. There is nothing official about that classification; it serves only to highlight the temptation to trust in reserves rather than trust in God. It is not wrong to have reserves; the Bible is filled with illustrations of the wisdom of preparing for the future Genesis 41:46-49; Proverbs 6:6-11. But it is interesting that when Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He taught them to ask God for daily not weekly, monthly, or yearly bread. Why? Because it reminds us who the source of bread and everything really is. Even if we have food at the beginning of the day, asking and thanking God for daily bread reminds us of His blessing; reminds us that "all things come from [Him]" 1 Chronicles 29:14. God created us all and as our creator, He knows our needs. God is love and as God that is love, He will never deny us our needs. Our needs and wants are worlds apart because we do not always need what we want and we do not always want what we need. God created everything that man needed before He created man in the likeness of His own image and the problem we have in our world today is not lack of adequate surplus supply of natural, mineral and food resources rather it is all to do with the greed and wicked nature of mankind. God who created man knows of the greedy nature of man hence even when He rained Manna from heaven He specifically instructed the children of Israel to only gather what they needed for the day except on the sixth day when He permitted them to gather double so that they can observe the Sabbath day. Today in our world whilst many are struggling to make ends meet some are living in excessive abundance and even in their abundance surplus they are void of joy. Whilst many in the world idolize the world famous and stars and consider their lifestyles as desirable, sees them as height of success, the reality is that their life is often full of anguish and sorrowful pains, which goes to show that fame, and world stardom is no evidence of true spiritual blessings. True spiritual blessings is all to do with abundant joy, peace and rest in our souls and no one can have true joy, peace and rest in separation from God because God is peace, love, rest and joy. True blessings is established in the spirit and a person that is blessed will always have the joy of the Lord and the joy of the Lord will always be their strength no matter their circumstances. As evidenced by the life of many world stars and famous, money and fame of this world does not bring joy. The only way to have joy is in perfect relationship with God who is love. Long lasting joy comes from lawful abiding with God and no one can have joy when they disobey God's instruction by gathering more manna than they need with the intention of glorifying themselves and out of greed and lust depriving others the use and enjoyment of it. The bible says in Psalm 24 that the earth is of the LORD's, and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein. Everyone came to the world naked and naked we shall all return. To spend time on earth pursuing outward world riches is to end up with nothing at the end of the day because true riches that last forever are all in the spirit and a spirit that makes no provisions for eternal life will end up with zero returns at the end of days. Whilst God is not against us having abundance and surplus in this world, however, it is against the will of God for us to gather more than what we need all in the mind of greed and intention of depriving or oppressing others. Our world is a world of greed and corruption and we see how each and everyday due to human greed and corruption many people across the nations suffer unnecessarily. The gap between the rich and the poor widens daily and the policies of the world are usually to benefit the mega rich at the expense of the so called poor. We see daily how due to greed, several of our world rulers commit terrible human atrocities all for the sake of remaining in power just for the purposes of controlling their nations wealth for their own greedy ends. In their desperate attempt to remain in power, such rulers could not care less about the human effects of their tactics to crumble any resistance against their will and desires to remain in control because to be greedy and power drunk is to be completely void of good conscience. The worldly corrupt and greedy sees themselves as god in their own rights and even those that speaks of a god only do so to rubber stamp their wicked will and intentions as godly ordained and not manly ordained. To be godly is to have a conscience and those that have a godly conscience are always in mind of accountability and responsibly towards God. The mindset of the ungodly is that they are only accountable to themselves and when they speak of accountability towards God; it is usually according to their own standards and rules. Due to lack of conscience, the ungodly have no respect for God let alone for humanity and for they lack respect for God, it matters not to them how they treat their human counterparts. To be in a position of power is to have a huge advantage and powerful influence over the masses. If a person that is in such position is void of heart of love and fear of God, then that person cannot have any good conscience and without good conscience the will of man will always be to oppress, depress and compress those that they are rulers over. Due to greed and love for money, the end time man has afforded more value to money than to human life itself. Based upon lack of good conscience and fear of God many across the world are prepared to kill their human counterparts without any form of guilt or remorse all for the sake of world power and control of riches. The bible says, what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world only to lose his soul. To have God's Spirit is to have a heart of love and those that have the heart of love will do everything to please God. God knows our heart and He is aware that our desires are mostly worldly due to our lack of spiritual understanding. God is the creator of all and as creator of all He is the Most High. To desire God Himself is to have everything that God stands for which is eternal wealth, peace, rest and everlasting joy. A piece of bread with God's love in heart is heavenly angelic food and when our soul is truly joyful, we will always appreciate God no matter the circumstance. As a Christian, I have come to realize that the one I must always desire is God Himself and if God is in me and I am in Him then I know for sure that all is certainly well with my soul. I know God loves me hence I will always praise and thank Him no matter my situation and because I know He loves me I have come to accept the fact that although God may not necessarily give me all my wants He will always meet all my needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus. God is committed to caring daily for "the birds of the air, Are you not of more value than they?" Matthew 6:26. Those who lust after the things of the word will not only lose their soul but will also end up losing the true riches of life, which is the Holy Spirit of God, and His eternal kingdom of life. Matthew 6.33 says we should seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all this things shall be added unto us. If you are a child of the kingdom, know for sure that you are truly blessed and highly favored and as apple of God's eyes, no economical situations can place you at any disadvantage in true life sense because with God you are already full of eternal life profits and can never in any dominion dimensional realms trade to lose.
