~Ephesians 3: 20-21 Verse 20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us”, Verse 21 “Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end”. Amen. The one thing we are very good at doing as human beings is asking or demanding what we want or need from those that we believe have obligation to give us our wants and needs due to the proximity of their relationship with us. We are born with a asking and demanding attitude hence even as a child we know just how to ask and demand from our parents what we want or desire. Since we are already by nature good at asking, it is not surprising to see many Christians concentrating so much on the biblical “ask verses” such as John 16: 23 to 24, Mark 11:24 and Matthew 7:7, to justify their everyday addiction to asking God for everything they want which is usually to do with this world. However, from a divine life perspective, when Christ said we should ask and that if we ask we shall receive, it was not intended to focus our minds on asking in mind of lust and our carnal desires rather it was meant to focus our minds on asking in alignment to His will to discover His will and desires for us. Prayer is not a commandment to God but a request and if we want God to grant our request at all times then it is important that we ask according to His will and purpose for us. Asking outside His will, like James 4 verse 3, says is asking amiss. According to 1 John chapter 5 verses 14 to 16, the only time we should confidently expect a yes from God to our prayers is when we have asked according to His will. God’s will for us is all to do with the spiritual perfection our souls and if our request is all to do with feeding our lust then we cannot expect God to say yes because that is not His will for us. God knows our human needs, wants and desires and He is always faithful to ensure that we have all our needs at all times but not necessarily our wants. Our wants are usually temporal and it is often all to do with our present day existence and God’s denial of our wants is mainly to focus our mind on His permanent loving will and blessings for us. God is love and His will for us is to perfect our souls and spirits for an eternal life relationship with Him and for this reason God denies us our wants to shift our focus away from the world to Him. God wants us to know that His divine will, desires and purpose for us is perfect reality and unless He shuts the wanting heart through His systematic approach of denying us our lustful wants to take us to a point of surrender to His will, we will continue to lust after the things of this world. To be lustful after the things of this world is to remain lost in transit and what Christ came to do is not to encourage us to remain lost but to find us and lead us all the way to the Father through the gates of heaven. Whatsoever your circumstance, God sees it and knows the way out. All He requires of you is that you surrender your will and desires to Him and let His will be done in your life. It is only in perfect spiritual vision that we have God’s spiritual insight, hindsight and foresight to see clearly that the root causes for matters affecting us in this life is all to do with the sin of the first Adam and God’s predestined solutions for us is the remission sacrifice of the last Adam. Unless we operate in God’s will and vision, it will be impossible for us to walk by faith of the last Adam and not by the blind sight of the first Adam. My prayer for you today is that whatever the circumstances are, you will deem it necessary to surrender your will to His will just as Christ the last Adam did. As evidenced by Christ’s example, to surrender our will to His will is to acquire all power though His willpower and in His willpower, I know for sure that you will never be void of real power. God’s willpower is the only one that is above all powers and principalities. In His will power, nothing in this world will have power to oppress, depress or prevent you from reaching His Holy land destination because in His willpower you will always rise above all your emotions, circumstances, situations to fulfil His life purpose for you.
