Is money the answer to everything?

The guest preacher at a business conferences I attended a number of years back started his message with the following statement "Although money does not give happiness, it sure does calms our human nerves". Following this statement, the preacher got a predictable response from the audience which was an outburst of laughter. Although I was one of the people that reacted with laughter, I wondered immediately afterwards if my laughter response was a form of agreement to his statement or gesture of disagreement. I realised with immediate effect that my response was in actual sense a gesture of my agreement to his statement. I couldn't have disagreed with his statement for the simple fact, that most of our human worries are all money related.  Therefore, human pursuit of money as the antidote capsule that is meant to have the power to calm our permanently worried nerves is to be highly expected.

However, money as King Solomon highlighted in Ecclesiastes 7:12, is not the utmost thing we must rely on for defence or as ultimate solution to our human life worries and problems. Our utmost defence as emphasised by king Solomon in Ecclesiastes 7:12 is Godly wisdom. This is rightly so because money in the absence of Godly wisdom is only a falsify defence that will ultimately render a person to be an offence to God. A person that is an offence to God will be spiritually defenceless and powerless. And the reliance on money as the ultimate defence will only work to further affirm such person in his or her defenceless spiritual position.

"A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things " (Ecclesiastes 10:19).

In a world of defined class segmentation based on level of material possessions, it is obvious to see why any human being will consider having surplus money as the answer to every problem he or she can possibly face in the world. Although there is no denying of the fact that having surplus money      gives a person the freedom to acquire at will all the material things his or her heart desires, money in itself cannot afford us the answers to our real needs which are entirely spiritual. As human beings we are spiritual beings and if the only answer money is capable of providing are all to do with the natural, then money is incapable of answering all things. A person that has money but void of Godly spiritual riches may appear joyfully merry on the outside. But unless God's Holy Spirit indwells in the inward of such person's spirit man, he or she will be completely void of true joy, peace and rest. Outward merriness in the absence of real spiritual joy will only work to produce terrible spiritual sadness for the human soul.

"Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit." (Ecclesiastes 2:17).

King Solomon who wrote Ecclesiastes was a man who seemingly had it all. He had what many people are after money for in today's day and age, which includes: Worldly power, fame, high level society status and admiration by fellow human beings. However, the same King Solomon who appears to have it all saw all his material wealth and fame as nothing but vanity upon vanity and vexation to his spirit man. King Solomon's admittance that his material wealth was nothing but vanity is proof of the fact that money does not have the capacity to fill our spiritual void. This is rightly so because although surplus money is capable of 'calming our physical nerves' it cannot calm our spiritual nerves system.

Human wants in the natural world of flesh are insatiable and natural things can never fill the spiritual void and emptiness that a person who is separated from God is bound to have. Therefore, no matter how naturally rich a person is, he or she will be spiritually dead and worth nothing outside of God who is life itself. God as our Maker is our Peace, Rest and Joy in itself. The solution to our entire human problems lies in having a relationship with God who as our Maker, is LOVE (1 John 4:8-11). God as our Creator made this solution  possible for us to have through giving us Christ His only begotten Son for the remissions of our sins. Following the fall of the first man Adam into sin (Genesis 3), sin became a major barrier in the way of mankind having a relationship with God. And to God be the glory, He removed this major barrier through giving us Christ to be the ransom for our sins. By repenting from our sins and believing in Christ as the only Begotten Son of God (John 3:16), we are able to receive from God, the forgiveness of our sins and reconciliation to His Holy Spirit of life.

For the fact that we are as human beings spirit beings, the question of whether a person is existing in a state of poverty or prosperity is entirely a matter of spiritual determination. In Christ, we are adopted sons of God and as His adopted sons, we are in line to inherit His eternal life Estate of endless riches and wealth (Romans 8:14-17). In Christ, we are not valued by perishable earthly possessions. But validated by the blood of Jesus Christ and set aside to be eternally God's adopted kings and priests through the Sonship and Kingship dominion of Christ Jesus (Revelation 1:5-6). Our inheritance in Christ is secured by His holy testament blood and as partakers of His kingdom-dominion bloodline, we are in all realms full of Godly imperishable wealth and riches irrespective of the natural life situations and circumstances we can possibly find ourselves in. Through Christ's holy testament blood, we remain in Christ the legitimate  benefactors of God's everlasting life kingdom of eternal riches.

The perishable things of this world are worth nothing in the spirit realm. As human beings, the net and gross worth of our entire being boils down to the spiritual status of the soul. If the soul is dead, then the being is worth nothing. For a soul to be alive, God as life itself has to indwell in the soul and the only way this can happen is if we surrender our lives to Christ who is the manifestation of God's love, goodness and glory in the flesh. The world we live in as temporary world is a world reserved for the regeneration of our souls. And what Satan the common enemy of man is after is to entice man with wordily riches for the sake of keeping the soul reserved for judgement of permanent death by God (Hebrews 9:28). Sadly, several souls in our human world have traded their souls for wordily riches. Blinded in the spirit and void of true revelations, a number of people in the world have traded their souls with the devil in exchange for money, fame and all sorts of perishable things, that money can buy.

The purchasing power of money is limited only to the perishable. And the falsify defence the pushing power of money gives in the world of flesh will only continue to work to deny the so called worldly rich and famous the right of the sonship and kingdom inheritance, purchased for us by Christ through the shedding of His precious blood on the cross of Calvary (Matthew 19:24).

With all said, I must at this point emphasise, that I am without a shred of doubt certain God is not against us having surplus money. But when a person makes money his or her 'god' then he or she is endangered to be enslaved and ruled by Satan the vanity centred fallen angel who deceives mankind daily to pursue wordily riches to the detriment of their souls.  Money can indeed calm the physical nerves and I must admit we can all do with a bit of surplus money now and again for kingdom advancement purposes. But to consider money as answer to everything is to jeopardise becoming a permanent lost soul with nothing to gain but vanity upon worthless vanity!

"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24).
