We are not called and chosen to please man. We are called to please God. If we try to please man we will displease God. Man is pro sin and God is righteousness itself. And the only way to continually preach God's true Word of righteousness  and remain in righteousness alignment with His divine Will, is by seeking and desiring always to please God and not man.

God's righteousness revealed is Christ (Jeremiah 23:5-6). The world of course is anti-Christ who is righteousness of God revealed in the flesh. The world hates God's righteousness because the world is pro sin. Therefore, we shouldn't expect to be popular with the world or for the world to love us if we are genuine preachers of righteousness.    The wages of sin of course is death and the reward of righteousness is eternal life of peace, rest and joy with God (Roman 6:23). It is therefore important that we do not jeopardise losing the reward of righteousness by preaching worldly centred messages for wordily popularity or just for the sake of worldly approval. 

In order not to jeopardise losing the reward of righteousness, which is eternal life of our souls, it is better we hated and be unpopular with man for preaching righteousness than to jeopardise becoming unpopular with God through preaching worldly acclaimed flesh centre messages. Indeed, if we are popular and loved by world, then we are not of God but of the world. The world loves its own and not those who are born of the Spirit of God (John 15:15-21). Those are born of the Spirit of God are no longer of the world but seeds of His only begotten Son who as the Word of truth manifested in the flesh has already overcome the world for us (John 16:33). Therefore, let us in all seasons preach Jesus as the Word to please God and not the world for the sake of pleasing man. So, help us all God. Amen.
